Chest width is measured flat across the front, one inch below the armhole, then doubled for full chest. Body length runs from the highest point of the shoulder straight down to the hem.
Best way to pick: lay a shirt you already love flat, measure it the same way, and match the numbers above. Between two sizes? Take the larger one.
